Individual Extended 75 Minute Session

Benefits of a 75-Minute Psychotherapy Appointment

A 75-minute psychotherapy appointment gives you additional time to slow down, explore what is happening beneath the surface, and make meaningful progress without feeling rushed.

A longer session may help you:

  • Go deeper into complex concerns rather than stopping just as important material emerges
  • Explore multiple connected issues during the same appointment
  • Process difficult emotions with more time for reflection and support
  • Notice patterns in your thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and relationships
  • Develop practical strategies and discuss how to apply them between sessions
  • Work through emotionally intense topics while allowing time to feel grounded before leaving
  • Reduce the pressure to summarize everything quickly
  • Use the session at your own pace, with more room for pauses and thoughtful conversation

A 75-minute appointment may be especially helpful when you are navigating grief, trauma, relationship concerns, major life changes, or several overlapping stressors. It is not necessarily “better” for everyone, but it can provide more space for deeper therapeutic work when a standard 50-minute session feels too brief.

This is a private-pay session only; insurance will not cover 75 minutes.

The cost of the 75-minute session is $300.

Why Choose Private-Pay Therapy?

Private-pay therapy can offer greater flexibility, privacy, and control over your care. Instead of meeting insurance requirements, you and your therapist can focus on the goals and approach that best fit your needs.

Benefits include:

  • Greater privacy: Insurance companies typically require a mental health diagnosis and clinical information to determine coverage. With private-pay, your sessions are not submitted to your insurance company.
  • More personalized care: Your treatment can be guided by your goals rather than insurance rules about diagnosis, medical necessity, session limits, or authorizations.
  • More flexibility: Private-pay care may allow more freedom in scheduling, session length, frequency, and therapeutic approach.
  • Fewer administrative barriers: You avoid claim denials, prior authorizations, coverage restrictions, and changing insurance benefits.
  • More control over your records: Your therapy does not become part of your insurance claim history.
