Meet Laura Schleipman

Licensed Mental health counselor in massachusetts

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Massachusetts with over 20 years of experience in mental and behavioral health services. Born in New York City in 1966, I also bring life experience to my work in addition to my clinical and educational experiences.

I received my Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology in 1995. After earning my degree I stayed home while living in the Quabbin area to raise my two children, who are now adults. I returned to work in 2007 when my kids were in middle school. I worked as a psychotherapist at Community Health Connections until 2018. At that time I left to start my private practice. I was in Worcester doing in person sessions until 2020 when I moved to Boston and began telehealth only services.

Currently I live in Brookline with my wife, teenage bonus son, and our cats. I love walking along the Emerald Necklace, writing, and spending time with family and friends.

My passion is helping people feel happier, more emotionally balanced, and more confident in themselves. Together, we focus on building self-esteem, reducing negative self-talk, improving communication, establishing healthy boundaries, and recognizing the strengths and resilience you already possess.

My commitment to you

I’m committed to providing thoughtful, highly personalized support in a confidential and welcoming environment. I take the time to understand your goals, values, and circumstances so our work is tailored to your life, not a one-size-fits-all approach.

You can expect attentive care, clear communication, and a collaborative process grounded in respect and professionalism. Whether you’re navigating a relationship, major life transition, or personal growth, I’m here to help you move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and intention.

Who I work with

I work with discerning self-pay clients, age 25 and over, who value thoughtful, personalized support and are ready to invest in meaningful change. My practice welcomes straight, gay, lesbian, bisexual, queer, and questioning individuals, as well as clients in all kinds of relationships and life stages.

You can expect a confidential, respectful, and highly individualized experience, one designed around your goals, values, and pace. Whether you’re navigating relationships, major life transitions, or personal growth, I offer a calm, inclusive space for people seeking exceptional care and lasting results.

My approach

My practice is designed to provide thoughtful, confidential, and highly personalized care. I manage your therapy, clinical notes, scheduling, billing, and communication outside of session myself, allowing for consistent, attentive service throughout your experience.

I do not use electronic record keeping. If you use insurance, I handle billing through a secure online system. For private-pay clients, billing is handled directly with you in a clear and straightforward manner.
